Awka community has expressed satisfaction with the massive road reconstruction embarked upon by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in different parts of the state, in which the community is benefiting.
The traditional ruler of the community, Obi Gibson Nwosu, who expressed the feeling while interacting with Abuchi Nwozor of ABS in his palace, maintained that the ongoing work on the Umuogbu village erosion site by the Soludo administration is an indication that the present administration is committed to improving the living standards of the people, in addition to giving Awka community a facelift as the state capital.
Obi Nwosu said that the award of contract for the reclaiming of the Umuogbu village erosion site to an indigenous firm is a testament that Governor Soludo is committed to encouraging the growth of indigenous firms, and expressed optimism that construction firm will do quality job and according to specifications.
The traditional ruler of Awka community, while commending Governor Soludo for other series of road projects inaugurated for either construction or reconstruction within Awka metropolis, drew the government attention to the deplorable condition of the road to his palace.
Obi Nwosu charged the people of Awka, especially the youths, to continue to be law-abiding, in addition to supporting and praying for the Soludo administration to enable it deliver on its mandate.
He reminded the electorate of the need to see next Saturday’s presidential and national assembly election as a major civic responsibility which they will not fail to participate in to ensure the emergence of a president who will bring solutions to series of issues facing the Nigerian nation, and federal lawmakers that will make laws that will touch lives positively.
The traditional ruler of Awka community, who is a onetime Deputy Chairman of Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers, called on the people to always protect government facilities in their various areas against vandalization.
