The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji has called on Ndi Akwu-ukwu in Idemili South Local Government Area to appreciate Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointing their son as Commissioner by voting the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the coming general elections.

 

Commissioner Onyenji who made the call after mass at Saint John’s Catholic Church, Akwu-ukwu, reminded them of the need to elect those who would assist the Governor to continue to work for the betterment of Ndi Anambra.

He recalled how he has been contributing to the development of the town even before the appointment, and charged the parents to train up their children in the right way so that they would not depart from it in the future.

 

He urged the young people of his community to key into the state government’s empowerment programme, one youth two skills going on now to better themselves.

The Commissioner warned the youths against indulging in all kinds of had drugs, stressing that such can ruin their future.

 

The Commissioner also advised people of his community to allow themselves to be counted in the coming National Population Census, even as he told them that indigenes of the community would be used as ad hoc staff for the exercise.

Earlier in a homily, the Parish Priest, Saint John’s Catholic Church Akwu-ukwu, Reverend Father Casmir Onyemaizu while speaking on Christian holiness a universal call, charged Christians to always be committed to God and humanity while living a holy live.

 

The Reverend Father condemned acts of malice and hatred and urged them to ensure they correct one another with love in the interest of peace.

The mass which attracted large faithful featured worship, praises, prayers and thanksgiving.
