Anambra State chapter of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, BCS, has celebrated its fiftieth anniversary and commissioned a new b ethel in Neni, Anaocha Council Area.
The event, which drew members from all parts of world, also provided opportunity to preach the message of Olumba Olumba Obu.
Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is a religious organisation founded in 1956.
Since it was founded, the organization has spread to many nations of the world, and the faith is being embraced daily by millions of people.
Founded by Olumba Olumba Obu, who is also the leader of the religious sect, their teachings centre on Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible.
In his message titled “Sanctification and purity”, Archbishop Evans Nwaesi said that vegetarianism is not about its health benefits, but a step to achieving sanctification and purity as ordained by God, pointing out that from the beginning of the world, God created man to be vegetarians, as seen in Genesis chapter one verse twenty-six to twenty-nine, where God gave prescribed food for man, wondering why human race is bent on feeding on flesh of other animals because they have dominion over them.
He revealed that major health and spiritual issues being faced by the human race is as a result of the consequences of feeding on flesh, asking people to be aware that the dominion given to man over every other creature by God is a divine responsibility for man to nurture every other creature with love.
On his part, the Anambra State Administrator of the Brotherhood, Archbishop Ndubisi Nwakakwa, said that the theme of the event, which is “celebrating God’s security, love and unity for Ndi Anambra”, is derived from the testimonies that have followed their evangelization since the message of Olumba Olumba Obu.
He pointed out that the love for one another is their priority, which has given birth to the commissioning of a bethel in the community. A member of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Sylvester Oforma, revealed that he has been a member since 1994, and has achieved rest of mind because he has known the truth in the word of God, saying that he has no regrets or whatsoever joining the brotherhood with his family, irrespective of the wrong impression about the group.
He appreciated their benefactor, Mr. Innocent Onyebuchukwu, for his decision to erect a place of worship for the people of God.
In an interview, Mr. Onyebuchukwu revealed that God gave him express direction to build the bethel, and recounted several revelations he had before embarking on the project.
He thanked God for His guidance and protection throughout, and most especially, the financial stability to finish the project, and described the bethel as the new hope for Neni community to be rescued from the shackles of the evil ones.
The golden jubilee celebration featured visitation to correctional centers and orphanages, as well as evangelical outreaches.
