Anambra State government has reiterated its commitment to activating and harnessing the rich untapped potential of Orumba North and South Local Government Areas.

 

Governor Chukwuma Soludo gave the promise when he inspected the ongoing twenty-seven-kilometer Ufuma-Awa-Amansea Road and also inaugurated the construction of nine-point four-kilometer Ezira -Umuomaku- Enugwu Umuonyia- Achina road.

The road inspection and inauguration in Orumba North and South was part of the efforts of the Soludo led administration to tackle the problem of roads confronting the State as over two hundred and sixty kilometers of road are currently under construction across the twenty-one local government areas of the State.

 

Governor Soludo also inspected the Nanka-Isuofia road which is nearing completion.

The Governor while performing the function said that the roads which he identified as strategic will connect the areas with the major cities and open more opportunities for the youths and farmers.

 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North Local Government Area Sir Ogochukwu Ekwueme and his Orumba South counterpart, Prince Neville Uchendu who commended Governor Soludo for his achievements within eleven months in office thanked him for fulfilling his promise to the people of Orumba.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi and the Commissioner for Women affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabo commended Governor Soludo for taking time to inspect the road projects which they said will ensure effective and timely delivery.

 

Traditional rulers from the communities in Orumba North and South as well as other critical stakeholders including the National Vice President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement, Mr Okey Ezeobi, were part of the exercise.
