A group of women yesterday , stormed the National Collation Centre in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory in protest, and threatened to strip themselves naked until the actual result of the presidential election is collated.
One of the protesters, Oby Elekwa, claimed that the election results being collated do not represent what transpired at the state collation centres, and demanded that the results be transmitted electronically as the Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, had promised
The protesters, who were however stopped some meters away from the National Collation Centre, expressed anger over what they termed INEC Chairman’s inability to keep to his promise of conducting a transparent and credible election.
They stressed that what they want is the original result, rather than the alleged rigged one, insisting that they will not relent until their cry is heard in the interest of the masses.
