A priest in the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Reverend Father Innocent Acho-Egbunike has asked Christians to remain steadfast in their faith as they face the sufferings, trials or ordeals in life.

In an interview with the ABS, Reverend Father Acho-Egbunike, who spoke on the Purpose of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, noted that great men of God in the Bible like Abraham experienced difficulties and ordeals but later enjoyed the dividend.

He noted that the event of transfiguration of Jesus Christ is necessitated by the confession of Saint Peter and the prediction of the suffering and death of the Lord

Reverend Father Acho-Egbunike explained that the event of the transfiguration instilled fear in the lives of the disciples, and after that Jesus took Peter, James and John to the scene of the transfiguration where he exposed them to the glory that comes with suffering.

The Vicar, Christ Holy Church International Agulu Number One, Reverend Patrick Chigbata in his sermon, titled have faith in God asked the congregation to renew their faith, and trust in the lord despite challenges and afflictions.

He noted that many have gone astray, and lost hope with their present situation, but with prayers and dependency on God, His people must become victorious in these perilous times.
