The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, the Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has adjudged Saturday’s State House of Assembly Election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as peaceful.
The Most Reverend Ezeokafor, disclosed this while commenting on the general conduct of the election.
The catholic prelate observed that the election was peaceful at Okpuno, where he voted and devoid of violence as the voters were orderly, while BIVAS worked very well.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor, however frowned at the low turnout of voters, which he observed was caused by the result of February twenty-five presidential election released by INEC which did not meet peoples’ expectations.
He charged candidates, who will emerge victorious to enact quality laws that will uplift the living standards of the people and guarantee sustainable development of the state.
