The former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has encouraged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to make Anambra State become the leading Oil Palm producer in Nigeria with his palm economy agenda.

 

Chief Obasanjo made the remark in Awka, while commending Governor Soludo’s giant strides within one year in office.

Chief Obasanjo was in Anambra to witness a town hall meeting, organized by Governor Soludo to present his score card and road map to Ndi Anambra after his first year in office.

 

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Obasanjo identified Soludo as a man that will serve bigger national and international purposes and expressed the believe that he will perform much better in the years to come.

On their parts, some stakeholders, including Chief Austin Oguejiofor and Chief Cyril Okoye, noted that Governor Soludo’s performance under one year is satisfying and assured to always support his administration to make Anambra great.

For the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, represented by the South East Chairperson, covering Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States, Lady Ada Chukwudozie, Governor Soludo’s performance did not come as a surprise going by his antecedents and past records.

Other stakeholders, who spoke to the ABS, including Chief Innocent Chiekezie and the Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Engineer Chris Obiorah, said that so far, Governor Soludo has not disappointed the people and called on Ndi Anambra to always support him by paying their taxes promptly and being law abiding.

 

The event, held at Anambra International Convention Center Awka, attracted dignitaries from within and outside the state including, the wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, top government functionaries, youths and women of Anambra State among others.
