Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated the board members of the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation with a task to develop livable estates and modernizing the existing ones.
Governor Soludo performed the function at Governor’s lodge Amawbia.
The Board has the former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Mr Emeka Sibeudu as Chairman, Dr Obiora Walter Eze, Igwe Jonathan Okpalaeze chase and Chief Leon Mezue as members.
Other members of the board are the Managing Director, Anambra State Housing Development Corporation, Mr Chike Anyaonu, Barrister Ikechukwu Onyeabor, Mr Emmanuel Okafor, Mrs Ijeoma Ezeaku and Mr Edwin Ejike.
Addressing them shortly after the inauguration, Governor Soludo tasked them with disruptive change in a manner that is consistent with the transformation agenda of the present government and to meet the yearning of ndi Anambra.
Noting that Housing is one of the basic necessity of every individual, Governor Soludo charged them with developing a livable housing estates and modernizing the existing ones and also housing estate for the elderly, middle and low income earners
He noted that Anambra needs proper shelter that meets the demands of the 21st century and said that the board is very important for the transformation agenda of the present government.
The Governor emphasized that Anambra has a significant number of housing deficit which the board must work very hard to close the gap.
The Secretary to the state Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, and the state Commissioner for Housing, Honourable Pauly Onyeka, among others witnessed the inauguration.
