The Anglican Diocese Of Awka has hosted the 2023 Lenten Prayer Convention with the theme “God of Divine Intervention”, to usher in Holy Week.

The prayer convention which took place at Chapel of Redemption, UniZik Permanent Site, Awka attracted members of clergy and faithful who came to seek God’s face.

Addressing the gathering, the Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop, Diocese Of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim said the lenten prayer convention has become an annual gathering where Christians seek face of God.

 

The guest preacher at convention, Bishop Ephraim Ikeakor of Amichi Diocese dwelling on the theme, said that for God to intervene in one’s life, the person must have a covenant relationship with God, be a born again without compromising and have uncommon and unconditional obedience to God as well as have undiluted faith in what God can do.

Speaking on how it concerns the women, the President, Mothers’ Union, Province of the Niger and Diocese Of Awka, Mrs Martha Ibezim thanked God for His grace which He has given to women to take care of their families and noted that with such prayer at the convention, the women are encouraged and equipped to face any form of challenge with confidence that God will intervene and give them victory.

Also speaking, the Cordinator of the convention, Venerable Solomon Chidoka said the theme of the convention is to encourage participants have faith in God.

 

Contributing , the Secretary of the Convention, Venerable Ifeanyi Umeh maintained that the event was opportunity of breakthrough for God to intervene in any difficulty especially as it concerns the state or the nation.

The convention featured ministration, praises, and many other activities.
