An opinion molder, Chief Boniface Egbutu has attributed most of the challenges facing the environment to human factor.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka on the inauguration of the green clean and sustainable environment initiative by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Chief Egbutu who described the programme as laudable called on Ndi Anambra to learn how to be environment friendly for a healthy living.
He said that when the citizenry becomes friendly with the environment especially in the area of environmental sanitation, the dream for Anambra being a green, clean and healthier Homeland will be achieved.
Chief Egbutu who is a community leader at Nise in Awka South local government area and also a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, decried the defacing of the environment by some citizenry, and canvassed for severe penalty for those found being indifferent to environmental cleanliness.
He charged the people to join hands with the government of Professor Soludo in improving the living standard of the people by making environmental health a priority.
Chief Egbutu used the opportunity to make a strong case for the inclusion of environmental health into the curriculum of schools and colleges to enable the students and pupils to get more knowledge of environmental cleanliness from the cradle.
On the one-year anniversary of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Chief Egbutu who described it as one with litany of achievements, called on NdiAnambra to see the development of the state as a collective responsibility.
