Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Honourable IFY Obinabo has cautioned the woman, deported from Delta State for begging to desist forthwith or face the law.
Commissioner Obinabo gave the warning in her office in Awka when a thirty-two year old mother of one, Ogochukwu Nwabude, was sent back to Anambra State by Delta State Government for constituting nuisance in the streets of its state.
Honourable Obinabo, who did not spare the repatriated beggar, encouraged her to be agent of change by engaging in a trade in order to fend for herself and her child.
She went further to empower her with a little token to help her start up a business of her choice but warned that if caught again, she will be taken to court.
The beggar, who hails from Nnewi, said she only engaged in the act for two weeks before she was captured by Delta State Government and repatriated back to Anambra State.
She promised not to engage in such act again and make good use of the empowerment to become self reliant .
She was later handed over to the Uruagu Nnewi Woman Leader, for monitoring.
