The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has urged Christians to key into the spirit of the Easter which is a period of appropriating the redemptive work of Christ.

In his Easter message Most Reverend Ibezim said the season calls for sober reflection and a time to evaluate both personal and national lives.

Correspondent Amaka Chibuzo Okoye reports that the Prelate explained that the resurrection of Jesus is God’s intervention in the history of salvation.

He noted that Christ resurrection has opened a new hope for humanity and restored to mankind the stolen mandate from the devil and lost authority in the garden of Eden which God gave Adam and Eve.

On the State of the Nation, Archbishop Ibezim said the country and state need divine intervention at this critical moment, especially with the outcome of the general elections.

He added that the election witnessed vote buying, voters inducement, intimidation and suppression, ethnic profiling, snatching of ballot boxes, destruction of electoral materials, jettisoning the use of Bimodal Voters Accreditation System in most areas, manipulation of electoral results and non-transmission of results to IREV portal on time.

He urged Christians to continue to seek the face of God to rescue the nation and State in order to become a better place that will be cherished, raising godly, competent, compassionate and capable leaders.
