The South East Coordinator, Nigeria Civil Situation Room, Mrs Ugochi Ehiahuruike has commended the Anambra electorate for participating actively in the electoral process.

 

Mrs Ehiahuruike who spoke to the ABS at Atani on her general observation of the exercise commended the large turnout of voters especially women and the passion they exhibited noting that they voted and waited patiently to protect their votes, giving kudos to security agencies for getting it right this time around.

On his part, an election observer from Abuja, Barrister Amechi Oguejiofor, who spoke to the ABS at Saint Luke’s, Okpoko, said the election was calm and peaceful, noting that INEC did a good work, though the turnout was not massive at the area but hoped that more progress will be achieved in future election.

 

Meanwhile, Nigerians are beginning to take the electoral process seriously as most of them in spite of the hot sun, waited patiently to monitor counting of votes at Urban Primary School, Atani, as at quarter to two o’clock in the afternoon in the Ogbaru Supplementary election.

Eligible voters were also seen seated and waiting for the upload of their votes at Umuajada, Atani ward one, unit 008.

 

Speaking to the ABS at Umuajada, Mr. Francis Uyanne said the election was successful in the ward while a party agent who spoke to the ABS at Urban Primary School, Mr Paul Ossai, said initially, some persons wanted to disrupt the election but the prompt intervention of security agencies restored order there.

A youth, Mr. Kosisochukwu Nzowu from Akili-Ogidi who voted at Atani 006, said he was happy that youths are coming out to take charge of their destiny and commended the peaceful process.
