Yesterday’s Supplementary election in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area recorded a reasonable turn out of people in some polling units while there was massive turn out of people in Acha Polling unit 010 in Iyiowa.
At polling units 003 and 004, Saint Luke’s Anglican church, Okpoko, eligible voters who came out in their numbers queued up while the aged and disabled seated and waited to exercise their franchise.
Also, at Okpoko 3, Independent Hall Two, polling unit 010, open space by Muobike polling units 004 and 005, eligible voters both men and women were under the sun waiting to cast their vote as at 12 noon.
There was a large crowd at Acha Polling unit 010 as at half past twelve mid-day struggling to cast their votes, a situation that did not go down well with the electorate at the area.
Speaking to the ABS, some of the voters at Okpoko including Chief Ogbuefi Ugonabo, Maryann Anyaorah, Emmanuel Ajagu and a physically challenged woman, Elizabeth Ani, said the election was peaceful and the security personnel were working accordingly.
Despite the crowd and struggle at Acha Polling unit, Iyiowa, twenty-four years physically challenged person, Miss Amarachi Igwe who expressed joy that she was able to exercise her franchise, said she was given preferential treatment.
Some voters and party agents at Acha Polling unit complained of malfunctioning BVAS machine and bad network which slowed down the process calling for improved service from INEC.
