There’s always a divergent narrative of basic facts. With each school of thought in dissonance with a household reality, critics come along with what they term argumentative truth. But the fact is that the truth will always prevail above emotive and pedestrian logics. Arthur Schopenhauer, the popular German philosopher paints it correctly in his own words: “All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” In the end, truth will always outdo biases, propaganda and insinuations. Truth like the purity of honesty, humanness and sacrifice. Truth like what the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, involuntarily represents.

Not many people will understand it, but the truth is that Mrs Soludo radiates simplicity in its most innocent and unique understanding. There’s a lot to learn from what the Anambra Governor’s wife has been able to effect on good governance in Anambra State since the dawn of the present administration. First, Mrs Soludo has carefully stayed in the lane of common perspectives, but in thorough listenership to ideas of her husband’s development visions. The Anambra Governor’s wife, shares similar vision with her husband, and even though the law does not consent her to make certain decisions, including commanding an office, she is always on the vanguard of compassion and peace. She takes preference for humility, and honours the calls of selflessness. This is a woman who insists on giving Anambra women and children the best, without an atom of compromise. A woman of immense compassion. A true mother, far from an elitist.

Mrs Nonye Soludo’s incomparable humility, wisdom and self-effacement come very handy in every unique reference. She has masterfully executed the role of a mother to her family and the mother of the state. In each social and humanitarian setting, Mrs Soludo is never found wanting. On a low light, she has continued to represent those humane, simple and meek images that draw her closer to everyone. She is neither a lover of public appraisal nor a pursuer of social recommendations. The Anambra governor’s wife comes from a lineage of rare hearts, the kinds that exist once in a lifetime. Committed to helping her husband give ndi Anambra a world-class state, She plays her part dutifully, giving light to dark areas and injecting spousal energy into the veins of her husband’s life and administration.

Just recently, Mrs Soludo came across a video of fourteen-year-old Chinonso Eche. The junior secondary school three teenager who had just become a five-time Guinness World Records holder after surpassing his previous record for the most consecutive football touches in one minute while balancing a ball on the head. The meteoric football freestyler, who hails from Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, hit one hundred and thirty-three touches on set in February 2023 to outrun his 2019 record of one hundred and eleven touches with an excess of twenty two new touches.

Eche’s spell-bound talent, immediately captured Mrs Soludo’s attention, and it would for anyone who appreciates extraordinary potentials. And being a woman who prices high on talents, the Anambra Governor’s wife saw something beyond the immediate in the teenage football joggler. It is the same vision that she had worked earnestly to achieve in herself, and her children too. As Chinonso Eche displayed his mastery of the art again, now in the presence of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, all eyes went unblinked in utter amazement. With every applause that interluded each magical contortion from the young talent, it became certain that Mrs Soludo had seen something special. She would later say to her husband: “This talent is special. We must find a way to groom them, we have a lot of them out there. And if we don’t harness them now, they’ll die as they’ve come.”

Governor Soludo understands. He knows his wife as someone who has deep passion for rising dreams. A woman who would go the last mile to see others succeed. A heart of gold. A mother to all. Chinonso was immediately given a five-year scholarship that would take him to university, while the governor promised that the state would cater for every financial requirement that is needed for him to achieve his dream of becoming a footballer.

Olaotan Fawehinmi, the Nigerian author, in his book “If I Were A Girl, I Would Not…,” mirrors Mrs Nonye Soludo thus: “A good wife is Royal in Heart. She is a crown to her husband, and pride to the home where she was raised. She is called a W.I.F.E because she is a Woman In Full Effect.” But it’s not just in being a classical wife that the Anambra Governor’s wife finds her ultimate magic. No, Mrs Frances Nonye Soludo is like a perfect summer full of exhilarating moments. Noiselessly, the Anambra Governor’s wife is planting a seed of hope and love in all hearts.
