Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji has emphasized the need for collaboration between academic Institutions and Industries to help in advancing African technology.

 

Commissioner Onyenji made the remark when a team from the Centre for Arts, Culture and Humanities, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.

 

He commended the centre for their interest in partnering Anambra State through the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism.

 

On her part, the Director, Centre for Arts, Culture and Humanities Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Nkechi Nwokoye said they came to discuss partnership with Commissioner Onyenji in organizing their conference aimed at promoting and protecting the African culture from going into extinction.

 

She said that the essence of the programme is to research on different perspectives concerning African culture and to chart a course on how to promote the Igbo culture.

 

She described culture as the totality of human’s life noting that man cannot exist without culture as according to her culture helps in inculcating the values of the people to posterity.

 

She called on Africans and Ndi Igbo in particular to uphold and promote their culture to sustain their identity.

 

In a vote of thanks, Doctor Charles Nweke urged Commissioner Onyenji to always carry them along whenever he is organizing any programme.
