As the 2023 National Population and Housing Census draws near the Acting Director of the National Orientation Agency in Anambra State Sir Joseph Uchendu, has charged the Field Officers of the Agency to shun politics of religion and ethnicity in the course of their duties.
Sir Joseph who gave the charge at a Programmes Review Meeting organized by the National Orientation Agency for the Management, Field Officers and other key officers of the Agency in Awka, said that the essence of the event is to make things work out properly in the Agency and to equip the participants adequately in all they need to know in the forthcoming National Population and Housing Census in the State.
Sir Joseph, while calling on the participants to key into the efforts towards advancing the goals of the Agency in Anambra State and in Nigeria, also spoke of his commitment towards moving the Agency forward by reaching out to critical stakeholders of the Agency for assistance.
He asked the field officers of the National Orientation Agency to have a clear view about the Census to enable them educate the masses adequately on their obligations during the Census exercise, describing the 2023 National Population and Housing Census as pivotal for planning and national development.
Sir Joseph pleaded with the Head of the National Population Commission in the State, Mr Joachim Ulasi to sustain enlightenment on the key messages of Census for not only easy propagation of the event in the State, but also clearer understanding of the importance of the Census exercise, pointing out that the staff of the Agency in Anambra State are disciplined enough to know what they supposed to do any point in time especially now the Census is around the corner.
He further admonished the staff of the agency to irrespective of their status, work towards protecting the integrity of the Agency at all times.
