The Transition Committee chairman for Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has called on Ndi Anambra to participate actively in the upcoming National Population Census.
He made the call while playing host to executive members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State council in his office at the Council Secretariat Umunze.
Prince Neville pointed out that it is very important that everyone takes full part in the national population exercise so that the problems that associated with the 2006 census do not arise.
He said that he has sensitized members of his council members on the need for active participation, urging other council areas to also embark on sensitization of their council areas.
Prince Neville commended Governor Soludo’s strong policy on security of lives and property of the state citizenry, especially how he tackled the security issues in the area and restored peace and stability in the area.
He commended journalists in Anambra State for doing a good job in information dissemination, and for prompt reportage of government programmes and activities geared towards growth and development of the State.
Earlier, the State chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists Dr Emeka Odogwu said they were at the visit to familiarize with the Orumba South Council Chairman and to see ways they can partner the council area in some of its programmes.
Dr Odogwu represented by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Comrade Ngozi Obileri extolled Prince Neville for making roads in eighteen wards in the Local Government Area motorable during Christmas, in line with the vision of Governor Soludo to give access to Ndi Anambra who came home for the yuletide, and for renovating some buildings in the council headquarters, urging him not to relent.
