A Lecturer at the Department of Mass communication Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Mr Chinonso Adikuru says that just as Jesus Christ raised Lazarus from death after four days, he believes the same Christ will surely deliver Nigeria from it’s series of daunting challenges.
In a sermon at Saint Peters parish Amawbia in Awka South local government area, Mr Adikuru who described trials and temptations as part of life charged Christians not to be deterred by any challenge they are passing through, reminding them that God is always ready to deliver His people.
Mr Adikuru whose theme for sermon centered on His Power over death, urged the faithful to desist from sinful acts in order to inherit the kingdom of God and called on those occupying leadership positions to use such in impacting positively on the life of the people.
The university teacher, who blamed the problem of the Nigeria on bad leadership stressed the need for equitable distribution of the Nation’s resources among the six geopolitical zones of the country for enhanced development.
On the Workers day, Mr Adikuru urged the federal and state governments to create more prospects for the teeming workers, for enhanced productivity.
In a remark the Archdeacon of Amawbia Archdeaconry Venerable Vincent Nkemdilim, charged the faithful to always take active part in evangelism and use their God given resources in expanding His kingdom on Earth.
The service featured series of prayers for Nigeria and her leaders and general thanksgiving.
