Ide Akwaeze Laboratories and ICT Complex built by Ide Ezeani Nzekwubuo Foundation under the chairmanship of Chief Ikenna Okafor, has been commissioned and handed over to the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia.

 

The one-story ultramodern complex is situated at Saint Dominic Savio Seminary, Akpu in Orumba South Local Government Area.

The chemistry, biology and physics laboratories and ICT complex worth over thirty-nine million naira, has been fully equipped with all needed materials and chemicals, while Chief Okafor also donated books to the school library for mental development of the seminarians.

 

The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, blessed and commissioned the facility, which attracted the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye, wife of the donor, Dr. Esther Okafor, clerics and seminarians.

Cardinal Okpaleke, thanked the benefactor and wife for the project handed over to the Diocese.

 

In a welcome address by the Rector of the Seminary, Reverend Father Anthony Akabuogu, who assured to utilize the facilities well, thanked the Chief Okafor for including the seminary community among the beneficiaries of his generosity, and contributions towards the development of human, church and society at large.

Handing over the keys to the diocese, the Donor, Chief Okafor said the project was borne out of his commitment to impact positively on the lives of the young ones towards education, and part of his contributions to the society, assuring the church that he will continue to support her development and that of the society.

 

He said education is the greatest investment in human beings and explained that the facility will prepare the seminarians for the future to enable them achieve their goals, urging them to study hard.

Presentation of artistic portrait, award and gifts to the benefactor by the Seminary and Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia capped the event, which also featured dance by the Seminarians.
