Anambra Central Traditional Rulers have donated two million naira to support Anambra state government in ensuring security of the state and assisting flood victims.

 

They made the presentation when they paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the State Governor, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu at the Government House.

 

The traditional rulers were received by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who and expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that it showed solidarity with the Anambra State Government.

Professor Chukwulobelu explained that the flood disaster and security challenges are critical issues for the government, noting that the Anambra state government recognizes the important role of the traditional institution in maintaining peace and security, promoting cultural heritage, unity and enhancing socio-economic development in the state.

 

The Secretary to the State Government assured them that the government is committed to addressing the challenges facing traditional institutions and their communities.

 

Professor Chukwulobelu also emphasized the need for continuous engagement and collaboration between the government and the traditional institutions to sustain the progress and development of the state.

The leader of the delegation and chairman Anambra Central Traditional Rulers and the traditional ruler of Akweze, Igwe Christopher Okpala expressed gratitude to the government for its efforts in providing infrastructure, healthcare, and education to the people of the state.

 

The traditional rulers also raised some concerns and challenges facing their communities, especially the issue of community security funding.
