The Dean of Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Ogugua Ikpeze has suggested that Local Government Councils be given powers to give customary right of occupancy to land developers.
This, she said, will help improve revenue generation for grassroot development, in line with the vision of the Soludo administration.
Speaking with Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha in Awka, Professor Ikpeze said accruing revenues from the land developers should be used in servicing state government projects .
Professor Ikpeze, who is a member of Committee on Education, Economic and Community Development, CEECD, Anambra East Local Government Area, also suggested mechanized farming, as well as development of river boundaries in the area into tourist attractions to improve revenue generation for economic development.
