The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the State Legislature will continue to collaborate with the State Ministry of Agriculture through oversight functions and other programmes to ensure that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s agricultural transformation agenda is actualized.
Speaking on the flag off of the 2023 Farming Season in the State, Right Hon. Udeze maintained that since inception of Governor Soludo’s administration, agriculture has continued to receive priority in view of the strategic roles it plays in providing food and resources for the masses.
The Speaker who commended the Governor for the delivery of assorted coconut and oil palm seedlings across local government areas and communities in the state, noted that the gesture would help in solving the problem of hunger among the citizenry.
He called on well-meaning citizens to invest in agriculture to complement Governor Soludo’s efforts in achieving massive local and mechanized agricultural rebirth in the state.
Right Hon. Udeze enjoined farmers to key into government’s programmes and policies aimed at improving agricultural production in the state by forming co-operative groups in their various localities.
On the federal government’s food security workshop held recently in the state, the Speaker extolled Governor Soludo for hosting the event, adding that it was a clear demonstration of the governor’s interest in agricultural transformation to enhance food production.
