The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji has charged the National Youth Council of Nigerian to always carry youths in rural areas along in their programmes.

 

The Commissioner gave the charge when the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigerian Anambra State chapter paid him a visit in his office in Awka.

 

While describing the youths as the leaders of today, Commissioner Onyenji urged them to always organize skill acquisition trainings to channel the youths in the right path and check their excesses.

 

He said that when youths are not properly engaged, they may be negatively influenced into causing troubles in the society.

 

Commissioner Onyenji commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his interest and love for the youths which made him create one Youth two skills among other programs his administration is championing for the youths.

 

Commissioner Onyenji said his ministry of Culture Entertainment and Tourism is creating opportunities in the creative industry to improve Igbo cultural values using movies and Tourism eco system which create job opportunities for the youths, noting that soon Anambra State will be the entertainment hub of Nigeria.

 

The Commissioner informed them of the meet and greet programme he organized last year where he profiled all entertainers in the state such as musicians, comedians, DJs among others, and told them that part of the mandate of his ministry is to regulate entertainment activities in the state to ensure sanity and maintain standards.

 

On his part, the state Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State chapter, Comrade Emeka Obi said they came to seek for collaboration with the ministry to enable them achieve their programmes.

 

He told the Commissioner about war against drugs Programme they held for the youths.

 

The group promised to support the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to help him achieve the total transformation of the state.
