Seven Deacons have been made Priests by the Bishop on Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo at the All Saint’s Cathedral, Onitsha.

Bishop Nwokolo during the event, said priesthood is a big privilege that comes with heavy responsibility, absolute loyalty to Christ and the church and charged the newly ordained priests to follow the lifestyle of Jesus Christ by leading with love and humility to draw souls to God.

The Bishop further said that the church has trained and provided the priests with basic things they needed to make them function effectively noting that the main reward comes from God who called them.

In a sermon captioned ” You Are My Battle Axe” Venerable Daniel Uche said there is great possibility when God handles any man adding that God send them out to different places to be His battle axe urging the newly ordained priests to shun pride and allow God to use them to touch lives.

The new priests had earlier made declarations and took oaths of canonical obedience, submission and allegiance to God and later signed the declaration and oaths administered on them by the Diocesan legal team.

Bishop Nwokolo after anointing the forehead of the priests with oil, gave each of them a copy of the Holy Bible, paten and Chalice as a sign of authority and were also vested according to the order of the priest.

Some of the newly ordained priests, including Reverends Emmanuel Ibeh, Chijioke Nweke and Alexander Anyanebechi who were obviously excited on their elevation, said they will humble themselves to take care of the flock entrusted to them and assist also in the growth of the Diocese.

The Litany for ordination prayers, thanksgiving and Special renditions from the Cathedral Choir raised the spiritual tone of the Trinity Ordination.
