The Transition Committee Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area Mr Emmanuel Nweke has stressed the need to re-invent the past in order to reshape the future,

 

Mr Nweke who spoke during the unveiling of school debate championship trophies at Oyi Local government headquarters Nteje, observed that indifferent attitude is one of the major things destroying the society.

 

The Transition Committee Chairman advised that people should inculcate in their children the attitude of cleanliness and correct waste disposal methods to achieve a clean, green and sustainable environment” for better Anambra State.

 

Mr Nweke said that the present government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo wants those values known for which are eluding the State to be brought back, and advised Presidents-General of various communities to wake up and shun all vices happening in the society, by re-inventing the past and reshaping the future.

 

The Head of Department Education and Social Development Comrade Martin Obimbakwe briefed the gathering on the preparations made so far and thanked Governor Soludo for his effort on green, livable and prosperous Anambra State.

 

Comrade Obimbakwe thanked the Transition Committee Chairman of the Local Government Area Mr Nweke for reintroducing the school debate for the good of their children.

 

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees in the Local Government Area Comrade Nicholas Aromeh commended the Local Government Area Chairman for being worker-friendly.

 

Present at the occasion were the traditional ruler of Awkuzu Professor Charles Anikwenze, Presidents-General of all the communities in Oyi Local Government Area, the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Deputy in Oyi Local Government Area, youth leader of Oyi Local Government, stakeholders and friends of Oyi Local Government.
