Anambra State Government has urged residents to disregard the so-called Public Service Announcement Sit-At-Home order signed by one Mr Simon Ekpa calling for a total lockdown in the South-East from July third to tenth, 2023.

According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information Sir Paul Nwosu , such provocative call should be disregarded by the people of Anambra State and indeed the entire Southeast urging the people to go about their normal duties without paying any heed to the antics of the nefarious Mr Simon Ekpa and his cohorts.

The statement maintained that the government does not recognize any group called Biafra Republic Government In-Exile and Biafra De Facto Government-in-homeland adding that it amounts to efforts in futility for these nebulous groups to order a total lockdown in the first instance from Monday, July third to Wednesday, July fifth.

It called on the Market leaders, workers and the entire populace to discountenance the unenforceable dictates of the groups led Mr Simon Ekpa who it reminded the people is hibernating in faraway Finland.

The statement urged the people to go about their normal duties without any fear as security agencies have been duly empowered to arrest and deal mercilessly with any deviants enforcing a breach of public peace.

According to the statement Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s drive to build a peaceful and prosperous homeland must not be countermanded by some cowardly hoodlums.
