Anambra State Government has assured women presidents general of good working relationships for rapid development of their communities.

 

The state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, gave the assurance when women presidents general from various communities across the state paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the government house Awka.

Commissioner Nwabunwanne, who called for active involvement of women in politics, stated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration prioritizes the welfare of women hence the plan to provide a bus for them and increase their salaries.

He urged them to distribute the Palm seedlings allocated to their communities to ensure that every household planted theirs for bumper harvest and to report happenings in their domains to government for prompt intervention.

 

Responding, ASATU Women Wing President General, Honourable Mrs. Ifeoma Okaro, expressed satisfaction with the visit and appreciated the state governor and his wife as well as Commissioner Nwabunwanne for having the interest of women at heart.

In a vote of thanks, Lady Njide Anusi promised that women will continue to support the present administration.
