The Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma has inspected the six-point-six kilometers Construction of Awkuzu-Umunya road project.
Speaking to the press at the Umunya end of the project, Engineer Okoma said that the road is in line with Governor Soludo’s vision of building a livable and prosperous megacity for Ndi Anambra.
According to the Commissioner, an emerging mega city will not be possible without sustainable infrastructure that will enhance the quality of lives of the people.
He said that the road when completed, will form a major alternative to the ever-busy Enugu-Onitsha expressway, Umunya-Awkuzu Section as well as facilitate the delivery of goods and services within the axis.
Commissioner Okoma commended the quality of works done so far by the Contractor.
He however said that the technical team is a little bit floppy, charging them to improve for optimum performance.
The Project Engineer for Labtech Construction Ltd, Mr. Rony Karam said that they are working assiduously to deliver the project on schedule and that they are enjoying all the cooperation and support they needed from the State Government, the Ministry and the Communities.
