The Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike says the current administration in the state is doing everything possible to make the health care system in the state the best in Nigeria.
Dr. Obidike stated this while speaking to the ABS in Awka.
According to the Anambra Health Commissioner, governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is conscientiously building a health care system that will be affordable, efficient and accessible to Ndi Anambra, irrespective of their places of residence across the state.
Dr. Obidike noted that over three hundred health personnel engaged by governor Soludo was aimed at filling the gaps for those that have retired, enhance the human capacity of those that are still active in the service, as well as bring in more expertise, professionalism and efficiency into the state health care system.
He maintained that the clock-in device which the Anambra state government is installing in its medical facilities are not meant to witch-hunt any health worker, rather to enhance efficiency and eradicate truancy, as the state values the lives of its citizens and other residents of Anambra state.
Dr. Obidike pointed out that the State government wants to have at least one strong general hospital in each of the twenty-one local government areas of the state, while plans are in advanced stage to build one general hospital each in both Anambra West and Onitsha South local government areas which had no general hospital yet.
He assured that Anambra state government will continue to prioritize the welfare of its health workers at all times and called on Ndi Anambra and other residents of the state who are yet to enroll in the State Health Insurance Scheme, to do so immediately to start benefiting from the scheme, which he said will end catastrophic and out of pocket medical expenses.
