The Anambra State Local Government Service Commission has restated its commitment towards human capital development and promoting higher productivity in Local Government System in line with the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

 

The Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Vin Ezeaka who stated this during a capacity building programme and inauguration of Service Contract with Anambra State – SERCAP, in Awka said the unit will drive Information and Communication Technology in the system and improve accountability, productivity and eliminate the challenges of truancy and ghost worker syndrome.

 

Barrister Ezeaka who presented ICT driven Clock in Clock -Out Devices and Digital Laptops to sixty six SERCAP Desk Officers participating in the programme , explained that Local Government as the Third-Tier of government should be free of corruption, promote high level of discipline and productivity to improve the self esteem of the workforce.

He charged the SERCAP Desk Officers to exhibit high sense of responsibility as role models in order to drive home the intended attitudinal change in Local Government system by making punctuality and “Change Begins With Me ” their watchword .

Barrister Ezeaka furthermore urged the Desk Officers to shun all manner of emotional entanglements occasioned by nepotism, reminding them that the Artificial Intelligence embedded in the ICT Devices have been well programmed that it is impossible to manipulate it for any ulterior motive.

He urged them

to be true watchdogs and enforcers of discipline, probity and accountability in the System and reiterated his commitment to bequeathing a transformed Local Government System of disciplined professional and highly skilled workforce able to withstand the changing managerial and administrative dynamics of the new normal in order to render optimal services to the grassroots and Anambra State in general.
