The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, says storms of life spur one to focus greatly in God and pray without ceasing.
The Most Reverend Ibezim, who is the Bishop, Diocese of Awka, stated this in a sermon during a service of confirmation and admissions into Women’s Guild and Christian Men’s Fellowship, at Saint Paul’s Parish, Nawfia, Njikoka Council Area.
He noted that many Christians during their dark moments, flee away to sort for help where it does not exist and while reminding them of the story of biblical Zachariah and Elizabeth, who righteously waited upon the Lord till the end of time, challenged the new members of the Men’s Fellowship and Women’s Guild to be like this couple.
He further challenged the newly confirmed candidates to be the John De Baptist of their time and allow the Holy Spirit to pilot their affairs.
The Archdeacon of Nawfia Archdeaconry, Venerable Ifeanyi Umeh, thanked God for his grace upon them, stating that the archbishops visit has transformed and given them a new life and strength to embark on aggressive evangelism.
Two of the newly confirmed, Master Chimdike Atuenyi and Miss Somtochukwu Obadile, testified that indeed they were filled with the holy spirit that will guide and guard them to do the work of Christ.
The service was for Saint Michael and All Angels Parish, Nawfia, Saint Andrew’s Parish, Nawfia, Saint Paul’s Parish Nawfia and Saint Silas Parish Nawfia, all in Nawfia Archdeaconry.
