The Transition Committee Chairman, Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ikechi, has lauded some local volunteers in the area, who have successfully dislodged some non-state actors that camped in the area.

Speaking after the operation Mr. Ikechi, commended the men for their display of bravery and smartness in doing the job.

He regretted that non-state actors, who had been camped in a forest between Umuenwelum-Anam and Nzam Communities, have been causing a lot of havoc and security threat to the people of the council area for quite some time now.

While maintaining that Anambra West cannot allow non-state actors to be operating in the area as Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration is doing everything humanly possible to protect lives and property of Ndi Anambra, the council boss also praised the state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Honourable Tonny-Collins Nwabunwanne for his support.

Mr. Ikechi advised parents to always monitor the activities of their children and wards in order not to join bad gangs or groups for their own good.

He therefore assured Governor Soludo of the support of Ndi Anambra West and asked people of the council area to always provide useful information to security agency once they notice any untoward thing within the local government, even as he assured that Anambra West, will continue to be safe for people to do their businesses under his watch.

Three Sport Utility Vehicles were recovered from the non-state actors, who are now in detention at Otuocha Divisional Police Headquarters, Anambra East Local Government Area.
