It is now one year since Prince Neville Uchendu assumed duty as the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State following his appointment alongside twenty others by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. They were given a mandate by Mr Governor to go to their local government areas and make the people at the grassroots feel the impact of the Solution Agenda. Like his colleagues, Prince Uchendu was evidently prepared for the job and he didn’t waste time to begin implementing programmes and policies that will bring his people closer to the government.
Prince Uchendu hails from Ogboji in Orumba South Local Government Area. He is a trained communicator having graduated from the department of Mass Communication at Federal Polytechnic, Oko. After his education in Nigeria, he proceeded to Atlanta, Georgia in the United States where he established a haulage and construction company, S-Brown West African Limited. Following his contributions to better the well being of Nigerians in the city, Nze-chinyere-ugo Ogboji was made “Mayor of Atlanta”. Despite his success in the states, Prince Uchendu did not forget home. He put his words to action as an advocate of Think-Home philosophy and established Nevclinton Nigeria Limited, a civil engineering construction and estate development company through which he has created different jobs in the state.
Prince Uchendu is a philanthropist and a firm believer in the development political ideology of Governor Soludo.
Now as the “Mayor of Orumba South”, Prince Uchendu has applied his public administration skills to the betterment of his people. On assumption of office, he hit the ground running by addressing the insecurity challenges in the local government area with the recruitment and inauguration of Orumba South Security Strike Force of the Anambra Vigilante Group and constitution of the Orumba South Security Trust Fund. He has continued to hold security council meetings with different security chiefs and critical stakeholders in the council area to ensure security of life and property in the area.
As a lover of education, Prince Uchendu has made practical efforts in supporting schools, pupils and students through the provision of reading and writing materials. He has also mobilized stakeholders to become partners in bettering the quality of education in the area. Similarly, in ensuring a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment in line with the vision of the state government, he instituted an award for the cleanest community in Orumba South which has led the LGA to be adjudged the cleanest in the state. Regular sanitation in communities are prioritized.
He has achieved similar success in health care delivery. For instance, he personally financed the renovation and equipping of Ogboji Health Centre and with the support of the state government, organized medical outreaches in all the eighteen wards of the council area. Road infrastructure is equally receiving needed attention under his administration. Prince Uchendu has carried out palliative and rehabilitation of different roads in all the communities of the council area and thankfully they are benefiting from the numerous road projects of the Soludo administration including the Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugwu-Umuonyia-Achina and Ogbunka-Ufuma-Akpu-Ajalli roads.
Hon. Uchendu has done creditably in the distribution of the coconut and palm seedlings provided by the state government to revolutionize the agricultural sector in the state. He facilitated the resolution of the President General tussle in Agbudu and land dispute between Nawfija and Akpu communities. He reconstructed the council hall and canteen, renovated and repainted the entire perimeter fence in the council headquarters.
Indeed, Governor Soludo understood the yearnings of the people of the council area in the reappointment and reconfirmation by the state House of Assembly of Prince Neville Uchendu as the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area.
Happy one year anniversary to Nze-chinyere-ugo and the entire people of Orumba South as they continue their journey in enjoying the good governance of Governor Soludo as being replicated by Prince Uchendu.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
