Transition Committee Chairmen of the twenty-one Local Overco mingment Areas in Anambra State have passed a vote of confidence in the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony-colins Nwabunwanne in view of his efforts towards the implementation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s transformation agenda in various local government areas.
In a press release endorsed by the Chairman of all the Chairmen and Transition Committee Chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Chief Livinus Onyenwe, the twenty-one Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen condemned an unfounded publication in social media by one Chief Vincent Udobi calling on Governor Soludo to sack the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony-colins Nwabunwanne or risk his second tenure.
The twenty-one Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen called on the public to disregard the publication by Chief Udobi, noting that the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, has continued to discharge his duties creditably in line with the development philosophy of Governor Soludo.
They maintained that Mr Nwabunwanne has been utilizing the opportunity given to him by Governor Soludo in taking development to the hinterlands, evident in the massive transformation that are ongoing in various local government areas as well as peaceful resolution of town union and chieftaincy crises.
The release warned Chief Udobi and the likes to desist from defaming public servants in the state but to always encourage them to continue to carry out Governor Soludo’s programmes and policies aimed at total development of the state as well as the well-being of the citizenry.
The twenty-one Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen demanded an unreserved apology from Chief Udobi to the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, to serve as deterrent to others.
They called on the citizenry to reciprocate Governor Soludo’s efforts in bringing development to the grassroots, noting that this is the first-time road constructions are going on simultaneously in all the twenty-one Local Government Areas in the State.
The twenty-one Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen on behalf of their various Council Areas, congratulated Mr Nwabunwanne on his recent award as the best Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs in Nigeria by the National Council for Women Societies.
