Awka Development Union Nigeria, ADUN has constituted a Seven-man Caretaker Committee for Awka Youths for effective service delivery.
The seven-man committee, which is drawn from the seven quarters in Awka Community has Mr James Uzoh from Umudioka village as Chairman, while Mr Ikechukwu Chinweze from Amudo village will serve as its secretary.
Other members of the committee include Messers Ikechukwu Ogbonna, Kene Molokwu and Chief Ken Nwaeze among others.
Announcing the composition of the committee members in his office, the President General of Awka Development Union Nigeria, ADUN Chief Kanayo Nwogbo who said that the constitution of the committee is in line with the directives and guidelines of the Anambra State Government which empowers the President-General of a town union to constitute a committee for its youths to pave way for smooth and peaceful conduct of its election.
Chief Nwogbo commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Aghamba, for being apostles of peace and unity and re-assured that Awka Community will continue to support his administration.
He charged the Committee which has three months to carry out its job and create a conducive atmosphere for the peaceful conduct of youth election in Awka Community to perform its duty in accordance with the law.
In a remark, the Deputy President-General of Awka Development Union Nigeria ADUN, and also, the outgoing President of Awka Youths, Chief Onyebuchi Nwobu described the setting up of the seven-man committee as a welcome development, which he emphasized will bring even development in Awka the capital of Anambra State.
In a remark the chairman of the committee, Mr James Uzoh who spoke on behalf of other members of the committee, thanked the Awka Development Union for finding them worthy to serve the community in their capacity and promised to deliver on their mandate.
