The remains of Late Mrs Catherine Anagor popularly known as “Nwunye Chief” of Umudioka Village, Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State have been laid to rest in her husband’s compound.

 

The Late Mrs Anagor aged sixty-five was the mother of a staff of Programmes Department, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Miss Tochukwu Anagor.

Mourners described her as intelligent, strong, smart, energetic and hard-working woman.

 

She was the Women Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Awka Ward Three for sixteen years before her demise.

 

The funeral ceremony attracted the members Of Hand of Glory Church, woman leaders of her party, staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, In-laws, relatives, friends and well-wishers.

The General Overseer of Hand of Glory Church, Awka, Pastor Ebuka Nnanyelugo, charged the mourners who gathered for the event to prepare their lives because death is inevitable even as he described Late Mrs Anagor as one who left behind great legacies and children who are contributing to a better society.

 

In an interview, the third daughter of the deceased, Mrs Amaechi Asilo described her late mother as a devoted Christian who was loving, caring, accommodating and a peacemaker.

Also Speaking, the first son of the deceased, Mr Chukwuebuka Anagor who described his late mother as a role model, counselor, friend and playmate, said that he greatly missed her because of the bond of friendship they shared while praying for God to accept her soul in heaven.

 

For Miss Toochukwu Anagor, losing her mother was painful and traumatic for her as according to her, her mother was her inspiration.

The Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu represented by the Director of News and Current Affairs Department, Mr Gab Okpalaeze prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

 

Some of ABS staff, relatives, friends, in-laws and well-wishers who spoke to ABS eulogized her as a woman of humility who lived a life worthy of emulation.

 

They came in groups to pay condolences to the deceased family.

She is survived by five children and nine grandchildren.

 

The Late Mrs Anagor was later interred amidst glowing tributes.
