The traditional ruler of Awka Community Obi Gibson Nwosu says the 32nd year anniversary of Anambra State calls for sober reflection.
Speaking in an interview with the ABS correspondent Abuchi Nwozor on the event, Obi Nwosu described Anambra as a state with chequered history since its creation thirty-two years ago.
He said that the pace of development in other states that were created alongside Anambra State on 27th August 1991 are recording development in progression and charged the people of Anambra State to see the development of the state as a collective responsibility.
Obi Nwosu who was a onetime Deputy Chairman of Anambra State traditional rulers council, however extolled the role played by various Governors of the state both military and civilian in setting the tone of development in Anambra State.
He also commended the Military president that created Anambra State Retired General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and in making Awka the capital as well as other founding fathers of the state for their resilience and charged Ndi Anambra to take full ownership of the state.
Obi Nwosu expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development in Awka by the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo who he said is gradually giving Awka the needed facelift as State capital, calling for its sustainability.
He used the opportunity to task the people of Awka Community to key into Government Programme and policies especially the ongoing Agricultural revolution as regards coconut and Palm seedlings.
On the forthcoming Anambra State Investments summit slated for the 7th of September, Obi Nwosu described it as apt in view of the repeated calls of Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Akuluono, and charged industrialists of Anambra State extraction to key into the investment summit for speedy industrialization of Anambra State.
Obi Nwosu reassured the Government of Professor Soludo of the support and cooperation of the people of Awka at all times and commended the administration for massive road construction and reconstruction going on in different parts of the state which Awka Community is benefitting immensely.
