Anambra State Head of service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe says the retreat for executive appointees and members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, is a clear indication that Governor Chukwuma Soludo places high premium on human capital development.

 

Speaking with the ABS on the significance of the retreat to socio economic development of Anambra State, Barrister Igwegbe maintained that the retreat apart from fostering a symbiotic relationship between the executive and legislature will sharpen the minds of the participants for effective service delivery.

 

She said that what is expected from those occupying leadership positions is to use such in impacting positively on the lives of the people.

 

She posited that the creation of the Legislative Budget and Research Office in the House of Assembly will make the work of both the Finance and Appropriation and Public Accounts Committees easier and will enhance due diligence in budgetary processes.

 

She thanked the Governor for approving the establishment of the Legislative Budget and Research Office in the State Legislature.

 

Barrister Igwegbe said that the various palliatives rolled out by the Soludo administration following the removal of the petroleum subsidy shows that the present Government in Anambra State has a human face.

 

She said that no civil or public servant will be left behind in the palliative measures put in place by the Anambra State Government, and charged workers to reciprocate the gesture by putting in their best in their various work places.

 

Anambra State Head of service, used the opportunity to advise Heads of parastatals and agencies to always see those under them as team players towards the development of Anambra State.

 

On the forthcoming thirty-second year anniversary of Anambra State, Barrister Igwegbe who described it as a period for sober reflection, charged Ndi Anambra to take full ownership of the state by being alive to their responsibilities.

 

The Head of service who said that the Anambra State investment summit coming up on September seventh is timely as it will act as a follow-up to the Clarion call by Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Business men of Anambra State extraction to come home and invest for speedy industrialization of Anambra State.

 

The State number one civil servant charged Ndi Anambra to identify with the Anambra State investment summit, and continue to contribute their quota to the development of Anambra State.
