The founders, board, management and staff of Cutix Cable PLC have celebrated the company’s fortieth year anniversary and honoured its Co-founder, Ambassador Odi Nwosu who retired as the Chairman, Board of Directors of the company .
The event with the theme “Striving for a Thriving Commonwealth” held in Nnewi attracted friends, family, associates and partners of the company to commemorate the milestone in the company’s history.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mrs. Ijeoma Oduonye read out a brief history of the company which according to her was founded in 1981 by Chief Ajulu Uzodike and was later joined by Ambassador Nwosu in 1982 with the name Adtec Limited.
Mrs. Oduonye explained that the company started with manufacturing of cables and switch gears and later included high quality electrical wires and cables under the name Cutix Plc which today stands as one of the best electrical wire manufacturing companies in Nigeria.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman on the occasion, Sir Ikem Osanakpor described Ambassador Nwosu as a man with great sense of humour who pays detailed attention to ideas and handle things meticulously.
Sir Ikem emphasized that the Think home philosophy championed by the founder of the company, Chief Uzodike was made manifest by Amb. Nwosu.
In his speech, the founder of Cutix Plc, Chief Uzodike described Ambassador Nwosu as a man full of wisdom and great potential.
Chief Uzodike thanked Ambassador Nwosu for all his ideas, efforts, and sacrifices for the growth of the company over the years.
He urged the younger directors and staff to emulate all the good qualities showcased by Ambassador Nwosu throughout his years with the company and prayed God to continue to sustain him to live longer.
In their separate remarks at the event, Board Chairman of Cutix PLC, Barrister (Mrs) Ifeoma Nwachiri, the Senator Representing Anambra Central in the Senate, Chief Victor Umeh, Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, Ambassador Elijah Onyeagba, Igwe Gerrad Mbamalu of Ojoto, Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu, and Professor ABC Nwosu described Ambassador Nwosu as a dogged businessman, technocrat, problem solver, innovative and great personality embodied with integrity.
Also present at the event include a former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party In February’s general election, Mr Peter Obi, Secretary to Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi, Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Professor Joseph Ugboaja, Transition Committee Chairman, Nnewi North Council Area, Engineer Chris Obiorah, the Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Chido Obidiegwu and many others.
Ambassador Nwosu was then honoured with numerous awards while drama presentation and cultural displays were the highpoints of the celebration.
