The Transition Committee Chairman, Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has described the palliative measures taken by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to cushion the effect of economic hardships occasioned by fuel subsidy removal as another pragmatic approach to good governance in the state.
Prince Uchendu who was speaking as a guest on ABS programme said that the free antenatal and free delivery service to pregnant mothers in the state primary health care centres and general hospitals, distribution of rice to over three hundred thousand households across the three hundred and twenty-six wards in the state, comprehensive medical package for Ndi Anambra especially the senior citizens and children that will be captured in the 2024 budget are a master strokes aimed at giving the citizens and the less privileged persons in the state a new lease of life .
The Transition Committee Chairman appealed to affluent members of the society especially politicians to join hands with the Governor in providing palliatives and other democracy dividends to the citizens.
He commended the massive road construction and reconstruction by the Governor as another measure that has mitigated hardship experienced by motorists and commuters in the state.
Prince Uchendu commended the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo’s breast feeding and healthy living initiative programmes and urged Ndi Anambra to embrace the programmes holistically in their own interest.
