Governor Soludo while welcoming the guests to the event said that the occasion was in line with the vision of his administration to build a livable and prosperous Anambra State.
He said that plans were being perfected for Industrial Cities and Parks with adequate power supply adding that in addition to providing investors with land and necessary infrastructure, investment fund to support and protect any investment in Anambra state is also underway.
He stated that Anambra is ready for investment assuring of doing everything possible as a government to put in place all the necessary support and encouragement.
In his speech, the President of African Export and Import Bank, Professor Benedict Oramah represented by a Director in the bank, Mrs Kanayo Uwani expressed readiness of the bank to partner Anambra State in her developmental efforts and to create jobs and encourage business growth.
He said that the bank will work with Anambra State government to create export oriented businesses in Anambra State and commended Governor Soludo for visionary and impactful leadership.
The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Mr Lui Jian Chun in goodwill message harped on the need for every institution, company, states and countries to partner for excellence.
According to Mr Chun,, economic cooperation, people to people communication, Infrastructure, ICT, Industry and Investment and export are key to economic growth noting that the Investment Summit is strategic and expressed the hope that the summit will lead to actions that will trigger development of Anambra and Nigeria at large.
The United Nations Resident Coordinator Mr Mathias Schmale who said that this visit was his fifth to Anambra State since Soludo assumed office affirmed that Governor Soludo’s vision has been inspiring to the United Nations and commended the initiative adding that the United Nations is looking forward to strengthening bonds with Anambra State.
The Minister for Women Affair, Barrister Uju Ohanenye, World Bank Country Representative and the Chairman Manufacturers Association of Nigeria covering Anambra, Enugu and Ebony States Lady Ada Chukwudozie also gave their goodwill messages.
Signing of Memoranda of Understanding with critical stakeholders including AFREXIM Bank and other investors featured at the event.
