The people of Umuchukwu Community in Orumba South Local Government Area have promised to continue to support the good administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the state and uphold peace at all times.
Addressing a delegation of the Umuchukwu Progress Union and notable stakeholders from the town who paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Council Secretariat Umunze, the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu described peace as a veritable instrument for sustainable development.
Prince Uchendu who noted that the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been able to record a lot of achievements due to the prevailing peaceful environment, commended the people of Umuchukwu for remaining peaceful and charged them to always abide by the constitution of the town as well as their tradition in all their dealings.
He assured them that whatever is rightfully due to them as a community would be given to them, while urging them to shun acts capable of bringing disunity or hamper the overall development of the town.
Prince Uchendu described the visit by the Umuchukwu Community as thoughtful and beneficial to the community and Orumba South at large, thanking them for appreciating the good governance of Governor Soludo as well as their resolve to give the Governor more support.
Earlier in his speech, the President-General of Umuchukwu Progress Union,Comrade Emeka Adinchezor while reiterating the peaceful disposition of the people of Umuchukwu, expressed gratitude to the Orumba South Transition Committee Chairman, Prince Uchendu for the warm reception he accorded them and assured that they would continue to work tirelessly for the unity, peace and development of Umuchukwu Community.
Comrade Adinchezor who commended Governor Soludo on behalf of the town for the massive road projects he is currently undertaking in Orumba South, pleaded with the Governor to consider the reconstruction of the dilapidated Umuchukwu-Ogbunka road, which he said, would enhance the living condition of the people and also improve the revenue profile of the government.
