The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anago has promised to develop football and other sporting activities across communities in the council area.
Mr. Anago made the promise while playing host to the Chairman of Football Association, FA, in Awka North, Comrade Raphael Okafor at Achalla, the Headquarters of the council area.
According to Mr. Anago, football has become a unifying sporting activity and a profession to many people as well as a great source of entertainment across the world.
The Council Boss who described himself as a sports enthusiast pledged to offer every necessary support towards promoting sports development through grassroots competitions so as to harness the football and other sporting talents of youths in Awka North Local Government Area.
In his remark during the visit, the Awka North Football Association Chairman, Comrade Okafor commended Mr. Anago for being a football and sports-friendly leader and assured him of the association’s unalloyed support in actualizing his laudable initiatives for sports development in Awka North.
In the same vein, the Awka North Mayor has urged the Women Presidents-General from the ten communities that make up the Local Government Area to keep supporting the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration.
Mr. Anago made the call when the Women Presidents General led by Mrs. Ebele- Chikodili Nnajidenma, who is the woman President General of Amanuke paid him a courtesy call at Achalla, the headquarters of the local government.
Mr. Anago noted that he is passionate and committed to issues that would improve the lots of the womenfolk and also assured the women of his partnership in order to move the Council area forward.
