Stakeholders in the state have continued to applaud governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration’s strides in all sectors of the state economy.

Those who spoke to the ABS commended the Governor over the recent palliative measures rolled out by the Anambra state government to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on Ndi Anambra.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Mr. Livinus Onyenwe, governor Soludo’s policies and programmes point to the fact that he tenaciously prepared for the job of building a secure, clean, green and prosperous homeland.

He maintained that all the palliatives rolled out by the Governor, which is not limited to free antenatal and delivery for pregnant women, free basic education, ongoing recruitment of about three hundred health professionals and three thousand teachers are meant to ensure that Ndi Anambra do not feel the hardship occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy by the federal government.

The Ayamelum TC Chairman called on the people of the local government to avail themselves of the numerous life changing opportunities created by governor Soludo and asked the State government to give priority to applicants from rural areas who will live and work in those areas if eventually shortlisted for even development.

The Anambra State President, Nigeria Union and Local Government Employees, NULGE, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe, described governor Soludo as a quintessential leader who has performed extremely well in less than two years in office, and admonished teachers in the state to always go for training for self-development as teaching profession demands passion and zeal and not to see the Governor’s recent approval to employ more teachers as just an avenue to get employment.

Comrade Adigwe noted that while the free antennal and delivery will reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in the state, free basic education will increase the number of pupils and students in the state, reduce economic burdens on their families, while the ongoing health workers and teacher’s recruitments will provide new thousands of jobs to the unemployed youths, thereby reducing social vices in Anambra state.

The NULGE President who assured that they will continue to ensure that their members in the state are happy, called for synergy between government and all the labour unions in Nigeria for a more productive nation, and called on wealthy Ndi Anambra to come together and support the Governor in the education sector for the state to continue to produce academic giants and scholars at all times.
