The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works has applauded the contractor handling the construction of Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugwu-Umuonyia road for working to specification.
The Committee made the commendation when they visited the sight to perform their oversight function.
The Committee which was led to the nine-point four-kilometer road by its Chairman, Engineer Emma Nwafor observed that the materials the construction firm is using for the project are of high quality and will enable the road to stand the test of time.
They expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done so far on the road as what they saw on paper matched what was on ground and commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for choosing reputable firms to handle road constructions in the State.
On his part, the Managing Director of the firm handling the project, Mr. Tony Madi who identified weather conditions as their major challenge, assured that the project will be completed in December this year and thanked Governor Soludo for finding them worthy to handle the project.
In his reaction, an indigene of Umuomaku, Mr. Chidozie Uzo said that the community is happy with the quality of job the construction firm is doing, adding that the road when completed will enable them to evacuate their farm produce to the market.
The Committee also visited Akpu-Ogbunka-Ajali road which is under construction where they charged the construction firm handling the project to stick to specification and deliver a quality project with twenty years guarantee as was agreed between them and the Anambra State Government.
The Project Manager, Mr. Shadi Alashari noted that the nine-point seven-kilometer road will be completed next year.
The Committee also oversited Onne-Enugwu-Umuonyia-Achina-Ogboji road where they observed that work is in progress and that the construction firm handling the project is working according to specifications.
