As Nigeria marks her sixty-third independence anniversary, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze says God is capable of restoring the image, unity, peace and economy of the country.

 

In his independence message to Nigerians, Right Honourable Udeze expressed satisfaction with the contributions of the foremost political leaders and those who fought for Nigeria’s independence towards the corporate existence of the country, describing them as selfless and visionary leaders.

 

The Speaker while wishing Nigerians especially Ndi Anambra a happy independence celebration, enjoined them to uphold those things that will continue to uplift the people and unite the nation.

 

He called on the nation’s ruling political class to see the peace and progress of the country as a priority by formulating policies and programmes that will benefit the masses, while urging politicians in the state to appreciate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s giant developmental strides by giving him the needed support.

 

Right Honourable Udeze enjoined both the government and private security operatives in the country to join hands in achieving maximum security of lives and property of the people and urged the federal government to ensure equitable distribution of the nation’s resources and opportunities among the six geopolitical zones of the country.

 

He commended Governor Soludo for making Ndi Anambra to share in the celebration of this year’s Nigeria’s Independence through his purposeful administration in the state evident in the massive developments his administration has recorded in all sectors of the State economy, as well as relative calm and security in the State.

 

The Speaker solicited prayers from Nigerians for God to take absolute control of the affairs of the country and solve the sociopolitical, economic and other major challenges facing the masses.
