The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi says the agency has registered over two hundred and twenty thousand people into the scheme.
Dr. Onyemaechi disclosed this during the registration of new enrollees in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area, paid through the adoption model of the agency by one of their sons.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Dr. Onyemaechi who went down memory lane to explain the reason for the establishment of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency by the immediate past administration in the State, noted that the agency was established to end out-of-pocket medical expenditure by the citizens, as well as to help the poor, downtrodden and less privileged to have access to adequate and effective medical services through the adoption model created by the scheme.
Dr. Onyemaechi who commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his giant strides in the State health sector, thanked him for his tremendous support to the agency and enumerated all the illnesses covered by the scheme, even as he assured that the agency will continue to innovate to meet up with the target of the Soludo administration in giving Ndi Anambra and other residents of the state, affordable, accessible and efficient health care services.
He explained that Anambra State Health Insurance Agency has been prompt in paying their capitation fees to their implementing medical facilities and urged their beneficiaries to always call their customer care lines during eventualities.
One of the beneficiaries of the scheme in Nnobi, Comrade Frank Ogwuaghamba thanked their benefactor for his magnanimity, and called on others to emulate him.
