The advent of the social media landscape has ushered in a new era of opportunity, extending its benefits to a diverse demographic that includes the young, the underprivileged, and the elderly. Today, diligent youths are carving their path to success by crafting engaging content and actively seeking life-altering prospects while some are even securing lucrative brand endorsements.

However, it is disheartening to observe that a substantial number of youths remain oblivious to the pivotal role social media can play in their lives. While businesses, churches, and companies thrive in this digital realm, many youths squander their precious time and resources indulging in unproductive activities, such as watching explicit content, gaming, and idle chatter. Regrettably, some have even fallen victim to self-destructive behaviors that jeopardize their future prospects.
It is essential to acknowledge that numerous youths invest heavily in expensive smart-phones, constantly refilling them with airtime and data, yet they fail to leverage these tools for financial gain.
Let us remember that substantial achievements can result from even the most modest of efforts. Now, the pressing question is: How can today’s youth harness the boundless opportunities offered by Social Media? Firstly, acquiring a smartphone and creating social media accounts are essential steps. However, apart from the connectivity it created and made the world a smaller village, social media has thrown a challenge which seem to be eroding values, especially as it relates to the youths, who absolves the contents shared hook, line and sinker without a broad mind to filter or authenticate, giving parents greater responsibility of guarding their children against the explicit contents of social media.
Finally, those who wisely tap into its potential are reaping the benefits, while those who remain idle squander their time and potential.
